Hey everyone!
📣 We just published 🔗an awesome article (click for the full text with all the good stuff) on using machine learning to segment copepod prosomes and lipid sacs! (or looking at how fat zooplankton are 🤷♀️)
If you have any technical questions or want to learn more about our work and the potential applications of this solution DM me on LinkedIn (and if you would like more news like this I have a newsletter. Some details below 👇
💙 Plankton is the beginning and end of (almost) all marine things.
Basically, we're using AI to analyze high-res microscopy images and help researchers better understand how these little critters are affected by climate change and other environmental factors. It's pretty cool stuff! 🦐🔬🌊
🔎 Why is it important?
Understanding how plankton reacts to changes in the ecosystem is important to evaluate its ability to serve as food for other animals and its role in regulating cycles of carbon in the ocean.
Our model is making the analysis process faster and more accurate, which means the scientists can gather insights and make progress on marine biology research even faster (and focus on - you know - science). 🌍🐟
Let me know what you think in the comments! (but better DM me 😄)
